Question 1) What kinds of things do you think Vincent might use his PC for? What other Examples of computers technology do you think Vincent might have?

Answer: Games, Homework, Chatting and watch a movie.

   He might also have TV, DVD player, Wii, Xbox, Phone, iPod.

Question2) In what ways might Vincent’s mum use ICT at work? Identify all the different ways that you can communicate with other people over the internet. In what ways might email be used for personal or work reasons?

Answer: She might use excel to calculate money, Camera to take a picture of the teeth. She can communicate people from over the internet by using E-mail. Facebook. And other chatting website..

Email might be used for making appointments.

Question3) Why might Vincent’s mum get emails from people she doesn’t know? What might be the problems with these emails? What can she do about it?

Answer: she got emails from people she doesn’t know because people have advertisements and send it to everyone. The problems are that it might be a virus. And she can block them.

Question4) What problems might Vincent and Andy have if they are using the internet to find information for his homework? What can they do about these problems?

Answer: Maybe some information are fake because someone can hack it or the internet might not work. And they can go to the library and find some books or ask friends.

Question5) Why might Vincent and Andy be at risk when they are online? What can they do to keep themselves safe when they are online?

Answer: Strangers might be able to see them through the camera when they don’t know, and the strangers might hack their program.

They can keep themselves safe by not adding and chatting with people they don’t know.

Q1 How many different things did you count? What were they? In what ways might computers be used to control different things in the super market?

A1 Icounted 6 and they weremicrowave, stellite navigation system, credit card, automatic door, freezer and conveyer belt

Q2Why is it useful to use computers rather than people to control things? What problems might there be if any of the computer systems fail in the supermarket?

A2  It is useful to use computers rather than people because computers do the programmed things quick and well. There will be problem like the door doesn't open, products melt.

Q3 Describe the inputs and outputs for the other devices that we have talked so far, How do the super market doors and car park varriers know when to open? Identify other control systems that work automaticallu in this way.

A3 Input alarm clock to ring at the time that the user set. Supermarket doors know it has to open when it sense the thing infront of it. Car park barriers know it has to open when the card is pulled out. Television will turn on when the ray touch the spot.


Q4 What would happen if the instructions were wrong? These instructions assume that the car is in the right place. Wht would happen if the car were not there? How could they stop this happening?



A4 If the intructions were wrong, the machine will move strange. The machine will just break the glass. They could stop this from happening by set machine to only work if it sense a car.

Q1: How could Mussie and Ellie find out whether older people do more for charity than younger people?

A1: They can find it out by searching in the search engine.

Q2: Why does Mussie think that these data prove him right? Why might Ellie think that these data do not prove him right?

A2:  Mussie thinks that this data prove him right because it is showing that adult donate more money than children do. Ellie thinks that this data prove her right because it’s only one part of the charity and the total amount of children donating are increasing

Q3: What question should they ask?

A3: 

Ø     Do they donate money to the charity?

Ø     How much money did they donate to the charity?

Ø     How much time do they spend doing charity work?]

Q4: How many questionnaires should they hand out? Who do you think should fill in their questionnaire?

A4: They have to hand out at least 30 questionnaires. I think students and their parents should fill in their questionnaire.

Q5: Which software could Mussie and Ellie use to put the answer into the computer? How can they check that the data are correct? How could they reduce the number of errors in the data? What problems might there be if the data were typed in incorrectly?

A5:  They could use Microsoft Excel. They can check the questionnaires again. They can see that if they type in the answer carefully. They might come to the wrong conclusion when they look at the data later on.

Q6: What is the best way for Ellie and Mussie to present their results?

A6: They can make a pie chart to present their result

  Q1 What might be the differences between a computer system set up for gaming compared to one set up for a business to use? Thing about the different hardware that might be needed.

 A1 The computer set up for gaming might has large screen, good speakers, good DVD drive and high speed modem. The computer set up for business migh not have any of this because they are just use to check emails and they don't really need large screen, good speakers and DVD drive.

 Q2  Earl has got ￡ 800  to spend. How can Shaheen work out if he has got enough money? What if he hasn't got enough? What method could Shaheen use to help her work ot the prices of these different options?

 A2 If he got enough money, he can just muy it and if he doesn't, he can buy cheaper brand.Shaheen can use spread sheet to help Earl.

 Q3 What does Shaheen need to do to this spreadsheet model so that it is ready to use?

 A3 Add title and some text labels and formats the spreadsheet.

 Q4 How can Shaheen use the spreadsheet model to hel her with the new customer? What changes might she need to make to her spredsheet model?

 A4 Make scren smaller,remove speakers, not very fast modem and add printer.

 Q5 How else could Shaheen present this information to make it easier to read?

 A5 She can make a graph.
